Helpful hints & tips
lostio is a web app, which means you can install it directly from your browser on your iPhone! Simply add the website to your home screen and your system will recognize that it is a web app and open it in full screen.
A guide to this:
- Open the Safari browser.
- Call up the desired website.
- Click on the share button, the small square with the arrow pointing upwards.
- Expand the menu.
- Here you will find the option “Go to home screen”.

You shouldn’t miss it!
lostio uses your current location to show you Lost Places in the vicinity. If Lost Places from Thuringia are displayed here with a distance of approx. 4 km, this is because you reject the location and do not grant lostio access. Contact our support WhatsApp group if you still have problems here.
Many iPhone users have problems here. Please make sure to allow the location and location services in the “Privacy” settings under “Safari”, as lostio uses the Safari browser.
This problem often occurs with Samsung devices and is due to the pre-set dark mode of your cell phone. The forced dark mode of the devices cannot and must not even be prevented by us. As a result, colors and icons are naturally displayed differently than we have specified. If this bothers you, we would of course ask you to switch off the dark mode.
In lostio you can create a quick access for your own Google MyMaps map.
The map does not even have to be public for this, so your locations are protected and can only be viewed by you.
The setup is a one-time process and can be completed in just a few steps.
You currently have to set it up on your PC, as we don’t yet know of a way to copy the map link on your cell phone.
- Copy the link of your MyMaps map.
To do this, go to the preview mode of your map and copy out the corresponding URL.
- Now go to the profile settings here on lostio and paste the link into the field provided.
Save your profile changes.
- You will then find a new button called MyMaps under the “Places” page.
If you click on this and are logged in with the correct Google account (owner of the map), your private MyMaps map will open in a flash.
Earn money in lostio
With lostio you can earn cash as an active user. You can always find your current balance here on your dashboard. As soon as you have €10.00, a payout button will appear.
You can only withdraw your money if you have a Premium membership.
If you don’t have one, you have the option of redeeming €5.00 of your credit to get lostio for 30 days for free!
But how can you earn money? Open the required tabs.
From now on, every user on lostio has their own personal invitation link. 🥳
How is the payment made up?
– If your friend takes out a monthly subscription, you will receive a one-off payment of €1.00
– For a 6-month subscription, you will receive a one-off payment of €5.00
– For an annual subscription, you will receive a one-off payment of €10.00
– For lifetime access, you will receive a one-off payment of €15.00
Update Lost Place
Of course, you will also receive a little something for your activity here on lostio!
If you submit a picture for a location without a picture, you will receive 0.10 €.
Submit a new Lost Place
You will also receive some credit for a new Lost Place! Provided that all details are complete and a picture is submitted.
If you report a new Lost Place including picture, characteristics and description, you will receive 0.15 €.
You can also collect additional credit through special events and competitions. So always be busy at the events! 🤯
Sometimes we also give away equipment such as flashlights and much more.
You can also earn credits with our Taskwall. For example, you will be rewarded with money for completing surveys or playing games! Premium users can have their money paid out. If you don’t have Premium, you can exchange your credit for a free Premium subscription!

Please keep in mind that we assume no liability for the Taskwall and that it is provided by our partner Bitlabs to give you even more earning opportunities. The corresponding credit that you collect there will then be credited to you here in the specified periods. You will always receive the money from surveys on the following day.
So please do not expect your credit to be updated immediately.
Your credit is not updated in real time. Every update or invitation of friends is checked manually beforehand. However, your credit should be credited after 48 hours at the latest. If this is not the case, please contact us.
